WHO THE HECK IS CANIS FIDELIS?/BIO
E-MAIL CANIS FIDELIS
"An it harm none, do what ye will."

Merry meet and welcome! I am Canis Fidelis, a 17-year-old, solitary-praticioning male Witch. Some of you are probably saying, "What? Did he say Witch?" Yes, I said WITCH! Not the kind with green skin that rides a broomstick in mid-air, mind you, but one who works with a bit less spectacular methods for the good of himself, his family and friends, and the Universe in general. :-)

As far as my family, they're pretty much the normal, everyday "jack" Catholic family. No, they aren't joining me in strange ceremonies, and I wasn't born as some sort of supernatural creature. I myself came from Christianity. And I didn't leave it because I don't like Christianity - I respect all forms of religion greatly (for example, I still say grace at dinner to the Christian God for my family, because I feel that He is just another face to Spirit, which represents all divinity - also, I respect my family and their choice of faith). Each man or woman must find and choose their own path to divinity, whether they call him/her/it God, Jehovah, Allah, Spirit, the Goddess, Diana, etc. The only thing I don't like is people (esp. conservative Christians, although they're definitely not the only ones) who can't respect other's religions, esp. minority religions such as New Age, Shinto, or Wicca. Also, pushy people who try to get you to convert to their faith are kind of inconsiderate - I sure you know of one major group (esp. in the United States) that rides bikes and drives in small white cars, dressed in business suits, knocking on people's doors and usually coming in pairs. This group shall remain nameless. ;-)

I made this site as a tribute to teens (and indeed, everyone) who are Wiccan. I also made it as a reminder to people who stumble across it that there are male teen Witches. Some of the sources I've read kind of passed it off as a "girl" thing amongst teens, and that's totally not true. While it is true that the female factor is valued and praised greatly in Wicca, that doesn't mean that guys can't be Wiccan. I do suggest, however, that guys who want to learn about (and perhaps study) Wicca look into themselves first, and see what they really think about females, girls, and women. If you turn out to be a bit feminist, more power to you! If you're neutral or a bit "macho," that's okay, too. But, if you're one of those guys who think only men are really important as free thinkers or people, and that women are just playtoys, Wicca may not be for you - Especially when taking into account that your main "tangable" deity would be a Goddess... ;-)

I'm doing my best to keep the experienced Wiccan in mind on this site, too, because I've seen quite a few sites that focus either completely on the beginner, or that focus completely on the experienced Witch. This site is both.

If you've got an open mind, I invite you to surf further into this site. I'm proud of you! :-) And don't forget to sign the guestbook! ;-)

Best Wishes and Blessed Be, Canis Fidelis
